The biopsy service provides diagnoses for approximately 1,700 cases annually, which come primarily from the teaching hospitals.

Activities include participation in the pathology rotation with Tufts senior veterinary students, attendance at weekly pathology rounds (gross, histopathology seminar, surgical pathology), monthly combined specialty rounds (neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology) and participation in the surgical biopsy service with pathology faculty and residents and study of histopathology slide sets. Additional activities can be arranged depending on time and interest of the extern.

Externships will be filled on a first come basis and limited to 1 at a time.  The summer months are typically in highest demand, so early application is encouraged.  Applications should include CV & letter of intent.
